I'm Christy Harrison, an anti-diet registered dietitian and certified intuitive eating counselor, and the host of Food Psych Podcast and author of Anti-Diet. I specialize in helping people make peace with food and reclaim the time and energy they lost to The Life Thief that is diet culture.
I offer online courses and and private intuitive eating coaching from an anti-diet, Health at Every Size® perspective, which means I'll never tell you to deprive yourself or ban certain foods from your life. Instead, my mission is to help you recognize diet culture for the life thief that it is, and tune back into your body's inner wisdom about how to truly nourish yourself—so that you can free up space in your life for bigger and better things.
In Food Psych®, I talk with inspiring people about their relationships with food, roads to body acceptance, and revolutionary ideas about what health really means. Along the way, I share my own journey from disordered eater to anti-diet dietitian, and offer resources to help you free yourself from our culture's toxic messages about what we "should" eat and how we "should" look. I launched Food Psych in 2013, and it's now one of iTunes' top 100 health podcasts and the world's leading anti-diet podcast.
In addition to my work as a dietitian and coach, I'm also a journalist with more than 16 years of experience in food and nutrition media. I've written for and edited award-winning books, magazines, and websites, including Refinery29, Gourmet, Modernist Cuisine, The Food Network, and many more, and I've appeared as a guest expert or source in numerous media outlets. I speak regularly about the non-diet approach at conferences and events for both professionals and lay audiences. My forthcoming book, Anti-Diet: Reclaim Your Time, Money, Well-Being, and Happiness Through Intuitive Eating, will be published by Little, Brown Spark in January of 2020 and is available for pre-order now.
With the few remaining hours in the day, I like to practice yoga, relax on the couch with my husband and cat, and spend as much time as possible outdoors.
